Crimson Phoenix advises RYODEN Corporation on its acquisition of TOPAS electronic AG

Crimson Phoenix has advised RYODEN Corporation (TSE Prime: 8084) on its acquisition of TOPAS electronic AG, a Hannover-based semiconductor and technology services business, in a deal that completed on 1 July 2026.

We are proud to have supported RYODEN throughout this process. This deal reflects the kind of cross-border work that we do best: helping a Japanese corporate with identifying, structuring and completing an acquisition in Europe, while bridging the business and cultural gaps that so often complicate these processes.

RYODEN is a Tokyo-based technology trading company and system integrator established in 1947. It operates across factory automation, HVAC and building systems, ICT, and electronic devices, serving customers throughout Japan and internationally.

Founded in 1978, TOPAS electronic AG has built a strong position across Europe supplying semiconductors to the industrial equipment, telecommunications, medical, and measurement and control sectors, alongside a unified communications systems and services business. The company has cultivated deep relationships with European customers and suppliers over more than four decades.

The acquisition supports RYODEN’s mid- to long-term growth strategy and strengthens its European footprint by combining TOPAS’s local customer base and technical support capabilities with RYODEN’s sourcing strength across Japan, Asia and the US, along with its private brand product offering.

Congratulations to the teams at RYODEN and TOPAS electronic AG on this new chapter.

At Crimson Phoenix, we specialise in Japan related cross-border M&A advisory, connecting Japanese and Western companies through acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures and capital raising from offices in London, Frankfurt and Tokyo.
